One Mother’s Day my sister handed me a card. I was surprised, as I don’t have children. What I read made me cry. She thanked me for being so maternal and supporting so many mother’s in raising their children (I used to be a nanny and teach). As the years have gone on I have put much thought into the archetypes of maiden, mother and crone. Some of the most maternal people I know do not have children, but they are mothering the world.
